Gluten free at Las Iguanas

We’re planning our book club (aka ladies’ wine den) festive outing and as two of us are gluten free, the group is very aware of picking somewhere that works for everybody. As cocktails are a pre-requisite of any book club outing, a suggestion was made that we should go to Las Iguanas at West One.

I was most excited to discover that they have an actual gluten free menu – so no leafing through the ring binder of doom that is the allergen folder – hurrah! I’ve looked at the menu online and it’s got loads of mouth-watering stuff on there. Instead of the common disclaimer you often see about not being suitable for coeliacs, the menu clearly states that they take dietary requirements seriously, which is very encouraging.

The gluten free menu looks fabulous – there are nachos, tacos and chilli, as  you’d expect, but also some really interesting South American dishes such as Xinxim (Chicken & crayfish in a creamy lime & peanut sauce) and Halloumi Churrasco Skewers (Flame-grilled halloumi, beetroot, artichoke, red onion & pepper skewers, with honey peri-peri sauce).

I will be sure to report back in a few weeks!

Las Iguanas, 8-9 West One , Fitzwilliam Street, Devonshire Green, Sheffield S1 4JP
