New gluten free menu at Browns

I’m always very excited to hear about local eateries with a dedicated gluten free menu as it’s so lovely to feel you have options when deciding what to eat. It’s no fun to be confronted with all the enticing menu items you can’t eat or even worse, when you have to study the dreaded allergen list in the ring binder of doom.

So I was delighted to get a sneaky peak of the new GF menu from Browns bar and brasserie in the city centre. There are some really nice meals on there. Starters include beef carpaccio, crab on toast, mussels and feta salad.

I like the fact that there are a selection of light mains (seared tuna Nicoise, prawn & crab rigatone, beetroot and avocado salad and others) as well as five main courses, steaks and a burger.  Among the main courses are roast chicken or lamb, seabass, or if you’re feeling flush, a whole grilled lobster!

There is also a pleasing choice of desserts, which include the ubiquitous gluten free brownie, but also a blueberry & chocolate mess and a creme brulee, as well as cheese or ice creams.

Another one for my list…

Update: I just learned they also do gluten free afternoon tea!
