Biscuits and pizza

We coeliacs have had some rather good news recently, in the form of two exciting product launches that are coming soon:

hobnobsNumber 1 is:
McVities’s has announced it will be launching gluten free Hobnobs! Regular and milk chocolate Hobnobs are due to hit supermarket shelves from July. This is quite exciting – Hobnobs are a serious biscuit, as all Peter Kay fans know.

I wonder if they will get round to doing a Jaffa cake…

pizza expressAnd Number 2:

Gluten free ready made pizzas from Pizza Express! Sainsbury’s are now stocking ready made 10″ margherita pizzas. They cost £4, which, remarkably, is the same price as their classic margherita. And they are accredited with the Coeliac UK crossed grain symbol. Good work!

Pizza Express are also now selling gluten free dough balls in store along with many other coeliac friendly dishes, which is great.

And finally:
I also noticed the Sainsbury’s at Archer Road now has a much bigger free from section, including a relaunched range, now called “Deliciously Free From“. It includes tubs of the mini crispies that are good for kids’ parties and taking to the office, and some gluten free celebration cakes and tray bakes.
