A lovely friend invited us to a Christmas party last week. She had gone to some effort to provide a few gluten free nibbles as well as the usual assortment of crisps etc, which were kept separately. Obviously, the majority of people weren’t aware of this and were tucking in. Fine – there was more than enough for one.
Part way through the evening she baked a Camembert, and provided chunky slices of apple to dip in (A new, but delicious, combination for me). I had a few scoops while it was fresh from the oven, as I feared for its ‘safety’. And rightly so – a few minutes in and along came somebody with a crumbly bread stick. Snack over.
I know how that goes. I am always the first in line to get my GF “stuff” before someone else contaminates it.
